Real honey is from a bee hive collected from flowers.
We have kept bees since 2003 in and around Midrand and Gauteng Province. Our real honey comes from foraging bees. It’s never heated and not irradiated.
Irradiation happens when imported honey and products labeled as honey needs to be gamma x-ray treated – like nuts and other food stuff that gets imported – from other countries. This does damage certain aspects of the honey but also ensures that no harmful biological microbes and living insects before it enters our environment and natural biome. It is so that we can prevent foreign harmful elements entering our country and agricultural ecology.
When we sell all of our supply of honey we know and work with very respected local beekeepers to provide local honey after we have verified they have local hives too!
